Beef Sishebo
Ingredients
oil
1 kg beef chuck cubed
2 tablespoons flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large onion chopped
3 cloves garlic crushed
2 bay leaves Thyme
3 tablespoons Tomato paste
2 cups Beef stock Water as needed
Served with Rice
Directions
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 60 -90 minutes
Serves: 4-6 people
- Coat beef in flour, salt and pepper
- Heat a pot in medium heat and fry the beef in batches until browned
- Remove the beef and set aside
- To the same pot, add the onions and garlic
- Add the bay leaves and thyme, followed by the tomato paste
- Add in the browned beef and beef stock and allow to cook for an hour to an hour and a half till the meat is soft on medium / low – check regularly to ensure there is enough liquid and it is not drying out. Keep adding liquid if it dries too much
- When meat has softened, add in the Harvestime Country Crop and simmer for 6 minutes
- Serve hot with rice
